Spleen Surgery (Splenectomy)
Spleen surgery
Dr. Campbell provides surgical evaluation of splenic disorders, including removal of the spleen (splenectomy) when it is needed. Splenectomy may be recommended for certain blood disorders, an enlarged spleen, or cysts and masses of the spleen. He coordinates this care with your other doctors.
Spleen surgery is part of his gastrointestinal and abdominal surgery practice. Whenever appropriate, he uses robotic-assisted and minimally invasive approaches.
Get emergency care for severe abdominal pain, fever with abdominal tenderness, or signs of bleeding such as dizziness or fainting.
